With completing math ext 2 recently, I have a plethora of the most up-to-date resources and have all my knowledge of mathematics fresh. During the lesson, I would go through the topic, give practice questions, and explain any concepts that the student isn't understanding thoroughly and then give a fair amount of homework so the student has enough resources to practice all concepts.
