About Anitej

With a background in team sports, I not only retain aspects of teamwork like collaboration, team building, and customer relations, but I also possess communication skills as a Multilingual, fluent in English and Hindi with limited working proficiency in French, and additional skills, such as punctuality, adaptability, positive attitude, ability to carry heavy weight items, prioritization, multitasking, problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments, and empathy.

Communication, adaptability, and empathy are significant strengths that helped me blend into new, rigorous environments throughout middle and high school. To give you a brief overview, I’ve resided at four distinct locations in two different countries and studied on five unique education boards. The five education boards include India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), United States’ K-12 public education board, and Cambridge International AS and A Levels where I did two years’ worth of courses in 6 months.

In terms of experience along the way, I’ve volunteered at Sanskriti, an organization geared towards the celebration of Indian culture, as the sports head and art assistant. As mentioned earlier, I’ve been a team player in Soccer, where I played as a Midfielder who assisted, both, the defense and offense of the team, and in Swimming, where I was a freestyler, back-stroker, breast-stroker, and swam in the 200/400m relays. In grade 11, along with a soccer coach, I started a Unified Soccer club, a league created for those with disabilities who don’t get a chance to play competitively, or otherwise. I served as the
assistant manager and a team player. Other than sports, I’ve taken part in Robotics and Aeronautics, where I was part of the building teams. To continue serving my community, I joined the Interact club, a community service club that organized community events and other things to collect donations that went towards charity, American Red Cross, military families, etc. And, during my time, thus far, at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan (UBCO), I decided to work alongside managing a full course load. In the first term of my first year, I worked 15 hours/week as a Dishwasher at Pritchard Dining Hall.

About the lesson

Every student is different and I've been a student who has explored different teaching and learning methods. I did grade 11 and grade 12 mathematics and computer science in just 6 months, and to do so, I had to be my own teacher and I had to be a student of myself at the same time. I know it sounds complex but I developed ways to grasp concepts quickly and efficiently. My tutoring method would differ depending on the age group. It would involve varying fun activities to engage the student and then continue on with the business; of learning the subject. My lessons would range from 30 mins to one hour, based on the student's needs.
