About Gwen
I have been a writing center tutor at Cornell University for a few years now. I also have educational experience as a STEM camp biology instructor, college teaching assistant, and event writer and supervisor for Science Olympiad. I love working with young people and I like to be silly and outgoing in my work.

I like to meet students where they're at in terms of their preferences for a session, learning style, and academic needs. When educating I like to ask strategic questions and draw things out. This can be super helpful for students to see the intellectual framework. I also highly value student agency and making sure that students are able to maintain their voice and develop skills beyond just improving individual assignments. What sets me apart the most is that I have real-world experience in my fields, having done research studies in different biology fields and being a writing tutor at Cornell. I'm aiming most for high school and college-aged students, but middle and elementary (or adult learners) are great too!
