About Amy
Hello! I’m a fully qualified and experienced educator from New Zealand with over eight years of teaching experience across a range of year levels. I currently teach at an international school in Japan and specialize in helping primary-aged students become confident, creative writers. I believe every child has a unique voice, and I love unlocking that through encouraging, engaging, and purposeful lessons. As both a classroom teacher and a parent, I understand the importance of building strong relationships, nurturing a love of learning, and tailoring support to suit each child’s needs. My background in education, design, and psychology allows me to bring creative, student-centered approaches to every session. I’m passionate about helping young writers discover the joy of expressing themselves through words.

As an experienced New Zealand-trained teacher with over eight years experience in the classroom, four in New Zealand and four at private international schools I specialise in helping foundational and primary aged students (ages 5–12) build confidence and creativity in their writing. My lessons are designed to be engaging, fun, and personalised - encouraging students to discover their unique voice while developing essential literacy skills. I use a strengths-based approach and a variety of prompts, games, and story-building techniques to spark imagination and nurture a love of writing. Lessons typically run for 45 to 60 minutes and are adapted to suit each child’s interests and learning style. Whether your child needs support with school writing tasks or simply wants to become a more confident storyteller, my sessions provide a safe and inspiring space to grow and write.
