About John Louis
What sets me apart is my experience as both a CUNY Adjunct Lecturer and GED Instructor, where I've helped adult learners and high school students prepare for success in the classroom and on standardized exams. Rather than relying on memorization, I emphasize critical thinking, reading comprehension, and problem-solving skills that students can use long after the lesson ends.
I offer tutoring in GED preparation, Social Studies, Civics, Government, History, Math, Algebra, and Geometry. My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and adult learners, including students preparing for the GED, improving classroom performance, or building a stronger academic foundation. Whether you're catching up, preparing for an exam, or aiming for top grades, I strive to create a supportive learning environment where every student can succeed.

My name is John Louis Bido Rodriguez, and I believe that the best learning happens when students understand why something works—not just how to memorize it. My teaching style is patient, interactive, and personalized to each student's learning needs. I focus on building confidence by breaking down complex topics into simple, practical steps and encouraging students to ask questions throughout the lesson.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by a guided explanation of a new concept using real-world examples. Together, we'll work through practice problems, develop effective test-taking strategies, and finish with independent practice to reinforce what was learned. My goal is not only to help students find the correct answer but to understand the reasoning behind it so they can solve similar problems on their own.
