About Deborah

Hi! I’m a sixth form student currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, and I really enjoy helping others understand subjects that they might initially find challenging.

My experience tutoring GCSE students in a secondary school showed me how rewarding it can be to see someone become more confident in a subject after receiving the right support.

I want to tutor because I know how much of a difference it can make when you have someone who is patient, approachable and willing to explain something in a way that makes sense to you. I want my lessons to be a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working at their own pace.

Outside of studying, I enjoy volunteering, taking part in student programmes and getting involved in activities that allow me to support and work with other people. I’m looking forward to helping students achieve their goals and hopefully making GCSE Science and Maths a little less daunting!

About the lesson

I believe tutoring should be tailored to each student, because everyone learns differently so my lessons are focused on helping you understand the topic rather than simply memorising information.

As a current sixth form student, I understand the challenges students face when preparing for exams. I also have experience tutoring GCSE students in a secondary school, where I have helped students work through difficult topics and build their confidence.

During lessons, I will adapt my explanations to suit your learning style and encourage you to ask questions whenever something isn’t clear. We can work through topics you’re struggling with, practise exam questions, revise key content and develop techniques to approach exams with greater confidence.

My aim is for you to leave each lesson feeling that you understand something you previously found difficult and a little more confident than when you started!
