About Lu
As a sophomore communication major at UC Davis, learning languages is both a hobby and a career path for me. Since my sophomore year of high school, I have been giving English lessons to Chinese children and sometimes Chinese lessons to foreign children living in China. My experience over the past three years has made me more and more interested in the intersection of Chinese and English cultures and languages, and I have grown to enjoy teaching both Chinese and English.

My Chinese lessons are mostly for beginners and people who learned basic Chinese phonetics. My approach to teaching Chinese is not the traditional way of learning Chinese, by telling what a word means and then making students memorize it; it's an immersion experience. I would teach the entire lesson in specific Chinese phrases, using pictures or objects for the students to guess. You should definitely come to my class and learn Chinese in a different way!
