About Katrina
Hi, I’m Katrina, and I’m a tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students feel more confident in their learning. I’ve worked with students of different ages and abilities, and I know that every learner is different which is why I focus on adapting my approach to suit each student’s needs. I’m patient, clear, and supportive. Whether a student needs help building foundational skills or tackling more challenging material, I break things down in a way that makes sense to them. I also take the time to check in regularly to make sure they’re not just getting through the work, but actually understanding it. My goal is to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing from them. I believe that with the right support, every student can learn and even enjoy the process.

My lessons are calm, clear, and focused on what your child actually needs. I take the time to figure out how they learn best - whether that means going step by step, filling in gaps, or stretching their thinking with a bit more challenge.
My lessons are typically 1.5-2 hours for 1-1 classes.
I check in often during the session to make sure they’re not just getting the right answer, but actually understanding the process behind it. The goal is to build both skill and confidence, so they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from them.
Every lesson has a plan, but I stay flexible. If something’s not working, I’ll shift gears. If they’re tired or distracted, I’ll adjust the pace. I also try to keep things interesting, using examples that make sense to them, quick games, or simple strategies that stick.
By the end of each session, I want them to feel more confident, more capable, and more in control of their learning.
