About Laura

I did a biological science degree at University, as well as maths, physics, chemistry and biology A Levels. I also have a PGCE in secondary science and my QTS from the DfE to teach in schools. I have been teaching for 6 years, teaching in schools in Plymouth Devon and now working in Poole Dorset.

About the lesson

My teaching style is based on the Rosenshine principles and the Teach Like A Champion (TLAC) methods. I like to make the lessons relatable to everyday life to help the content stick and use short quizzes to test understanding before moving on to the next section.

Perfect! Laura has been an amazing tutor for Abi. She always works at her pace. Abi has learnt so much and is really enjoying her lessons. Abi is gaining great knowledge and confidence. Laura is a fantastic tutor, she helped me through my GCSEs in 18/19 whilst finishing her own course. She wasn't intimidating like my friends tutor's, but understanding and gentle with her teaching methods. She used great resources and knew exactly what I needed to know for my exam, which was brilliant, because chemistry was my worse subject, but I needed to get a 7 to get my alevel choices, and I ended up getting an 8!!! She really helped me enjoy chemistry, I couldn't recommend anyone more.
