I was fortunate enough to be in Physics with Arav, and during my time getting to know him he's not only a fantastic student, but someone who loves to empower everyone around him. We had many small group study sessions for assignments, exam studying and conceptual comprehension which provide me a good overview of his grasp of material and ability to communicate it back.

Arav is the exact type of Superprof that combines amazing knowledge with compassion and awareness. Students find Physics to be an overwhelmingly difficult subject with tons of mathematical equations or steps or theoretical application that makes no sense, however, Arav is able to break it down into digestible pieces without ever making anyone feel stupid along the way. He takes time with explanations, checks for understanding and adapts his style based upon how a student is thinking about it. This is especially empowering for students who do not start with high confidence levels.

I'll never forget when we were preparing for our biggest periodic assessment yet. There were some mechanics and electricity concepts that weren't fully registering for me and he took the time to break them down from the most basic level. He didn't just give me answers, but instead he made me think and gave me hints as to how I should be approaching the problems, even with his explanations in between. By the end of it not only did I have a strong conceptual grasp of the concepts we were working on, but I also had a boost of confidence in my analytical abilities. This is the distinction between fostering success and annihilating confidence; Arav is so good at the former.
