About James
I was once sitting in the lobby of the School of Music at the college where I had restarted teaching after a four-year break. A student excitedly came up to me, gave me a hug, and reintroduced herself. She was in one of the first classes I taught. It was the class that students who had not passed the entrance exam to the SoM took prior to taking the test again.
We spent some time catching up when she said "you know, I'm getting ready for my senior recital and graduating this semester too. I wouldn't bedoing this without you."
She spent the next several minutes talking about little moments I had long forgotten from our class together. She said, "every time classes got hard, or I got discouraged I remembered those things you said, and I refused to give up."
What I hope to give to my students is the courage and confidence to not only never give up, but to discover within themselves the ability to do better than what they think is their best.

Lessons will be online only. A typical lesson plan, depending on subject, will consist of historical review of topic, or a practical examination of the piece prior to a more in-depth analysis.
I have one goal as an educator: my student learns. Though I have been a "professor"I never simply profess what I know. The goal is always to ensure that the student learns the material.
Lessons are tailored for the individual at their level, though the topics I teach are best applied to the secondary or Collegiate level though the driven Middle Schooler can benefit as well.
