About the lesson

Who am I? I'm a guy with a bachelor's, master's, and doctorate in music who has been teaching at a university for the 17 years. I have been working as a performer and teacher for over 40 years in popular music, jazz, and classical realms playing trumpet, guitar, bass, and singing. Tell me what you want to know, and I'll let you know if I can help you.
As an academic writer, I have a written a master's thesis in Theology, my doctoral dissertation, various educational materials, and 4 non-fiction books. I have also edited dissertations for many students, especially international students. If you want help with your English or academic writing, I'll be glad to help you improve it.

Who are you? Probably a high school or college student, but I'm happy to teach younger students and adults. Or you might be a grad student preparing a thesis or dissertation. I have plenty of experience to help with that too.

Why choose me to be your tutor? First, because I know lots of stuff. I have a ton of experience to draw from to help you find the answers you need. Second, I know how to teach and I'm really good at it. My basic plan is always to find out what you know and build on that to lead you into things you don't know. Also, because I understand music at a really deep level, I know how to simplify ideas that the textbooks make really complicated. If you want clarity, I'm the guy to ask.
