About Michael
I have been working as a composer, performer, and educator for two decades. During this time I have had the privilege of performing with a wide variety of professional ensembles. This experience has helped me to impart practical knowledge to my students while also learning from them.
I have specialized training in jazz, composition, music theory, and music theory pedagogy. I am passionate about music and music education.

My lessons incorporate the things I’ve learned over decades of professional music making as well as teaching music. Whichever area of your musicianship you are looking to work on, I will work with you to help you achieve your goals.
With years of experience teaching music at the university level, I am able to offer insight into the necessary skills for success in undergraduate and graduate music programs.
I also have a great deal of experience working with younger musicians.
