About Jessica

Hi! I'm Jessica, a sophomore at Duke University double majoring in Neuroscience and Biochemistry on the pre-medical track. I've always been passionate about academics and helping others succeed in their educational journeys. I graduated as valedictorian of my high school class and scored high on both the SAT and ACT.

My goal as a tutor is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, completing homework, preparing for an exam, or simply building confidence in a subject, I'm here to help!

I'm also bilingual in English and Spanish and am happy to work with students who feel more comfortable learning in either language. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is personalized to each student's individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to focus on the areas where they need the most support. With that being said, I can teach both high school and college students.

Depending on the student's needs, sessions may involve teaching an entirely new concept, reviewing challenging material, working through practice problems, helping with homework assignments, or preparing for upcoming quizzes and exams. I can also help students review class notes, understand difficult assignments, and strengthen their problem-solving skills.

I encourage students to actively participate, ask questions, and work through problems at their own pace. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, gain confidence in their abilities, and develop a strong understanding of the material rather than simply memorizing answers.
