About Rianca
I hold two degrees in psychology and a diploma in education. Knowing what it takes to succeed academically, I took on tutoring to help students while I am working towards my master's degree. I find great satisfaction in being able to share my knowledge and skills with students and love to witness their growth and progress. Additionally, tutoring allows me to continuously learn and expand my own understanding of the subject matter, as I am constantly challenged by different learning styles and approaches. By building strong relationships with my students, I can provide personalized guidance and support to help them overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Furthermore, tutoring allows me to foster a sense of confidence and empowerment in students, as they gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their studies.

My lessons focus on achieving success in the areas of reading comprehension, listening for information, teaching pronunciation, helping students acquire a larger vocabulary, and assisting them in gaining an understanding of the grammatical rules and conversions of the target language. Furthermore, I help students with test preparation, analysing and understanding novels, as well as succeeding in poetry analysis. I am well-versed in teaching business English to adults as well as helping students with school-level English and Afrikaans. With 5 years of experience, I am a competent educator in the IEB, Cambridge and CAPS curricula. I believe in working through past examination papers together as well as giving homework to consolidate the concepts learned. Feedback on the work is always given at no extra cost and I welcome students who want to bring their own materials or questions to class.
