About Mackenzie
Hello! I am a dedicated educator specializing in Special Education, Mathematics, and Early Childhood Development. My mission is to transform "I can’t" into "I understand" by bridging the gap between foundational skills and high-level academic success.
With extensive experience in 1-on-1 learning environments, I have successfully tutored many students by identifying their unique "roadblocks" and building custom bridges over them. Whether your child (or yourself) is just discovering numbers or navigating the complexities of High School Algebra and Geometry, I provide the expert, neuro-inclusive support they need to thrive.
At University, I graduated on the Dean's list and was on the all-conference team for my Criminal Justice Degree. I have been a tutor and study partner to many at the college level.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach. Outside of academics, I am a Volleyball Coach and Youth Group Facilitator. These roles have sharpened my ability to motivate young people, foster resilience, and communicate with empathy.
I am not looking for "quick fixes." I plan on dedicating significant time to grow each individual student I work with. I aim to build long-term partnerships where I can see a student progress through their milestones, providing a consistent, supportive presence in their academic journey.
Choosing a tutor is an investment in your child’s future. I offer the professional legitimacy of a classroom-experienced specialist combined with the high-energy mentorship of a coach.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your student's specific needs and see if we are a great fit. I look forward to helping your student reach their full potential!

Teaching Method & Techniques
-I use a multisensory and play-based approach to make abstract concepts—especially in math—tangible. My methods include:
-CRA Sequence: Moving from Concrete (using blocks/manipulatives) to Representational (drawings) to Abstract (numbers and symbols).
-Scaffolding: Breaking complex tasks into "bite-sized" steps to prevent overwhelm.
-Positive Reinforcement: Using interest-based rewards and clear visual schedules to maintain focus and build confidence.
A Typical Lesson Plan
-The "Warm-up" (5 mins): A quick, high-success activity (like a math game or sensory task) to build momentum.
-The "Big Idea" (10-15 mins): Direct instruction using visual aids and hands-on tools.
-Guided Practice (15 mins): We work through problems together, "thinking out loud" to model problem-solving.
-Independent Exploration (10 mins): The student applies what they learned through a creative task or game.
-Reflection & Reward (5 mins): Reviewing "wins" of the day and checking off our visual schedule.
What Sets Me Apart
I don’t just teach subjects; I teach the whole child. My background in special education allows me to adapt to neurodiverse learning styles (ADHD, ASD, Dyscalculia) in ways a standard tutor cannot. I prioritize emotional regulation alongside academics, ensuring the student feels safe enough to make mistakes—because that is where the real learning happens.

-Subjects: Early Numeracy, Foundational Math, Literacy, and Executive Functioning, Algebra 1 and Geometry
