About Meesun
I have 5+ years of experience working at tutoring companies for students K-10th grade and witnessing their grades improve. My kindergarten student went from knowing only the name of each alphabet and five words to reading and writing full sentences within half a year! Researching effective instructions to meet each student's needs is crucial to me as I continue to become a stronger educator by being a proactive learner, myself, first. I am also currently enrolled in an educator program at a State University to become a certified teacher.

I take time to build a trusting relationship with students in order to better understand their interests and struggles, which will then guide me when creating individualized plans for each student. Building strong foundations of phonics/grammar for ELA and arithmetic sense for math is heavily emphasized in my lessons, as tools to continuously use throughout each child's academic journey. I guide students on how to implement study strategies for efficient and effective learning, which then translates into proper execution of learning tasks. I also assist with homework and/or other assignments from school as needed.
I take upon a "whole child" approach, understanding that education is not simply a "data dump" on children but rather a culmination of their life experiences that include learned matter thus far. This is why I emphasize the importance of knowing my students well so that I may utilize their strengths in our lessons and hone any weakness that comes up when learning. I keep learning fun, active, and creative through activities to instill a lifelong meaningful relationship with education. Learning is meant to be fun and a lifelong journey!
