About Jesse

Hi, I'm Jesse — an Electrical Engineering student with a strong passion for teaching math, physics, and circuit analysis. I've always believed that anyone can understand these subjects with the right explanation and enough patience, and that's exactly what I aim to provide in every lesson.

My approach is built on finding the gaps in knowledge that we all have and bridging them so you feel confident in every situation. Whether we're working through algebra fundamentals or tackling nodal and mesh analysis, I take the time to bring you deeper understanding and confidence.

I know firsthand how discouraging it can feel to fall behind in a class, and I'm especially committed to helping students who feel that way regain their confidence. I'm patient, organized, and genuinely enjoy watching a concept go from confusing to clear.
I offer both online and in-person lessons, and I'm happy to work with students from middle school through college level. Whether you're preparing for an exam, catching up on material, or just want a stronger foundation, I'd love to help you get there.

My teaching method:

I adjust my teaching based on individual needs! My method surrounds the idea of true and deep understanding. Students will often struggle with math and physics because of gaps in knowledge most teachers struggle to find. I teach to create curiosity, then answer questions to deepen understanding.

I'm especially strong in algebra and fundamental circuit analysis — Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, nodal and mesh analysis, and Thevenin/Norton equivalent circuits — so if you're working through any of these, that's where I can add the most value.

A typical lesson:

I usually start each session by asking what's been covered in class and where the student is getting stuck — sometimes it's a specific homework problem, sometimes it's a whole topic. From there, we work through a few problems together so I can see where the gaps may be. We finish with a problem or two the student solves on their own so they can find their own questions for me to answer. I also send a short recap or practice problems after each lesson if helpful.

What sets me apart

I'm currently an Electrical Engineering student myself, so I'm not far removed from being a student — I remember feeling like I wasn't smart enough. I know how to explain topics in the way I wish someone had explained them to me. I'm especially patient with students who feel behind, slow, or discouraged at homework or in the classroom; I don't rush, and I never judge students for not getting something right away. I needed time, and so do they.

Who my lessons are for

I tutor students from middle school through college, with support in:

Algebra (from foundational skills through more advanced problem-solving)
Fundamental circuit analysis (Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, nodal/mesh analysis, Thevenin/Norton)

General math and physics for students who need a stronger foundation or are prepping for an exam

Lessons are available both online and in-person — in-person availability is handled case-by-case depending on location, so feel free to reach out and we can figure out what works.
