About Jenny
I have been an elementary/special education teacher for the last 5 years in both the US and Uganda. In my last teaching role as a third grade inclusion teacher, I was grade level chair after my 2nd year at that school. I was lucky enough to have gifted, special education, and ESOL students all in my class. I take the time to scaffold my lessons for every students' needs. I take pride in building strong relationships with my students and families and have been commended for it by representatives working for the DOE. I have also spent the last 2 years as a social-emotional learning (SEL) coach at my school to train and model other teachers to utilize positive reinforcement, empower students, build confidence, and teach vital skills such as emotional regulation, social skills, and comflict resolution skills.

Regardless of grade level (within K-6) and subject, I provide high-quality, engaging, and meaningful instruction. My lessons are highly interactive and student-centered. My role is to facilitate learning while the student uses reasoning and hands-on activities to grasp the concepts. A typical lesson includes direct modeling, a chance to try together, and independent practice with engaging and fun activities. Instruction is always individualized and tailored to address the specific needs of the student(s).
