About Brenda
As a teacher and parent, I understand that learning does not end at the end of the school day. I am here to help you master academic skills or provide support and help with homework. I have been in the classroom for twenty-five years teaching students from kindergarten to eighth grade.
I can help you with learning to read or improving your fluency, comprehension, and speed. I have experience using Science of Reading in the classroom. Need help with a project? I am your person. I have taught elementary and middle school science, STEM, math, literature, technology, history and geography. Feel like you’re falling behind and need extra help? I have been in the classroom for twenty-five years teaching students from kindergarten to eighth grade. In addition, I have experience with in person tutoring. With my time in the classroom, I understand that each student as their own method of learning. I am confident in trying different approaches to help you be successful. A typical lesson would include a review of the previous lesson, time spent learning and working with the new concepts, and finally time to discuss the goals for the next lesson. Homework help starts with a short discussion of what if any struggles the student is having. This is to make sure the student understands the concepts and skills being taught.
