About Jordan
Ms. Jordan’s experience includes five years of teaching children aged six months to twelve years. As a lead teacher at a preschool, she created and implemented various lesson plans at each academic level. Jordan taught English as a Second Language to two native French speakers while immersed in Swiss culture. She has recently assumed the role of an ESL student teacher for a local elementary school in Kansas City, Kansas. Before stepping into that role, Jordan earned her TEFL certification after completing a Level 5, 120-hour course through the International TEFL Academy. Through her teaching experiences and TEFL studies, Jordan developed critical pedagogic and classroom management skills, along with a passion for teaching English. While being in the school system, she has established and will continue to build on her patience, communication, classroom management, and conflict resolution skills.

Jordan is equipped with the Communicative Teaching Method, a philosophy that maximizes interactive, student-centered activities and "student talk time". Ms. Jordan likes to scaffold her lessons to include pair and group work, as well as movement around the classroom. By engaging students in speaking, grammar, writing, listening, and reading while appealing to diverse learning styles, Jordan helps students improve their accuracy and fluency across key skill areas. With nine years of experience with children, Jordan understands the excitement and challenges that accompany learning new languages and subjects. In her classes, Jordan allows time at the beginning and end of each class for students to share their challenges and triumphs for the week. Her aim is to support students' social-emotional well-being as they learn English and deepen their global awareness.
Jordan is equipped with grammar textbooks, grammar practice books, creative lesson plans, and genuine care and passion for students.
