About Adrian

I studied energy and process engineering with focus in control theory in Berlin. Right now I am doing a second degree in pure maths with the objective of studying processes of control theory in a theoretical fashion. With more than eight years of experience in tutoring I have helped a lot of different students, who were always very thankful, since even if they started our sessions completely clueless, they learned more in a few of our sessions, than in the whole school year up until then. Moreover their grades got of course much better. During school I was always really bad at math. I didn't understand anything and I just didn't feel like memorising all that "useless jargon". What do we even need all this for? When I finished high school, I didn't want to have anything to do with maths for the rest of my life. But life is full of surprises. After school I saw some interesting math facts and topics surfing on the internet. Because of that, an interest for maths started waking up in me, and since then I saw how beautiful and useful maths can really be, if it is explained WELL (!!). I have been active in the german superprof page for several years and I wanted to expand to the UK. Apart from maths, I have some years of experience teaching transverse flute to children in my hometown.

About the lesson

In our sessions we will learn through constant practice to solve exercises more efficiently and quicker, since it is generally known to be the best way to improve our own abilities. Some exercises will be done with my help and some without, in order to encourage self-confidence. Maths is much more beautiful, more intuitive and easier, than a lot of people think, especially if we understand its logical relationships, instead of only memorising rules. This is why we will not only practice exercises, but also learn the theory. If desired, we can go even deeper into the logical reasoning and proofs of each mathematical topic, in order to widen your understanding of maths.
