About Andrew
I have taught and tutored students from elementary into late high school and basic level college courses.
For me, teaching is as much about learning how the student learns and expanding their personal horizons through that relationship as it is about imparting the learning material. The second cannot take place without the first. I take this approach to both you and myself. Humans are here to learn. Let's walk together.

Life is a struggle, and learning can be a daunting part of it.
Growing up with neighbors fresh from Southeast Asia, I took my family's profession of teaching English to my new neighbors in the spirit of friendship. My students ranged in age from primary school to grandparents, so the lesson always matched the person and where they were in life. The material is consistent, each student is an individual with individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. Teachers instill relationships between cultures and among people of diverse backgrounds.
I survived math anxiety in high school, eventually finding the footing from my inner journey to attend and complete a BS in Engineering. So, I understand the combination of fear and frustration.
Teaching music to pay for my engineering degree, I found myself with additional work as a mathematics tutor for the same students. The material is very different, but the person behind the lesson remains the same, and we applied learning styles found in music instruction to the other subject. Teachers help us to learn how to learn.
And that is the essence of teaching: strengthening your friends to better the world around us.
