About Abera

My name is Abera and I’m a recent Civil Engineering graduate. I’m passionate about helping students from grades 1-12 build confidence in math and understand concepts that may initially seem challenging.

As a Civil Engineering graduate, I've studied and applied mathematics extensively throughout my education. This allows me to explain not only how to solve math problems but also how mathematical concepts are used in real-life situations.

I'm patient, approachable, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that math doesn't come naturally to everyone, and I believe that with the right explanations and encouragement, every student can improve.

About the lesson

I typically like to teach by reviewing content learned in class and focusing on areas of improvement through doing practice problems and summarizing steps at the end. I can also tailor my teaching methods to each student's learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. Rather than encouraging students to memorize formulas, I focus on helping them understand why and how mathematical concepts work.
