About BJ

I am an experienced teacher/professor, having taught hundreds of students over the years. The majority of my students have been at the university and have mostly been 18 and up, but I have also taught EFL to children and run workshops or classes at many primary and secondary schools. In the past, I also taught at companies and other workplaces. Besides teaching, I am a writer. I’ve published several hundred articles in newspapers and magazines, and I’ve also published a number of books. My books range in subject, including literature, translation, breastfeeding, and more. I speak Swedish and translate books from Swedish (and occasionally also work from Danish or Norwegian).

About the lesson

I have been teaching formally in schools and universities and at businesses since 2002, and I was a tutor before then. My teaching experience has included English as a foreign language courses, literature courses, classes in translation or creative writing, and more. I have taught one-to-one, small groups, and also larger groups. I have taught people ranging in age from 5 years old up through in their 80s, though most of my career has been focused on those between 18-35ish. As for my background, I have a PhD in a subfield of literature and I was a university lecturer/professor for many years. I've published many articles and books, including an EFL textbook. If you want to work on your English skills, or if you need help analysing literature or writing essays or literary texts, then I would be glad to support you with this. I can meet you in person in Norfolk or I can work with you online. The first lesson is free. Lessons will be 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed upon. You might think my lessons are a bit more expensive than some other tutors offer, but please remember my many years of experience.
