About Manna
I am a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic tutor who understands how important it is for students to feel confident in their abilities. Having recently completed my GCSEs myself, I have a strong understanding of the current exam experience and the challenges students can face when preparing for assessments.
I achieved grade 9s in both GCSE English Language and English Literature, alongside strong results across my other subjects, and I am now studying A-level Maths, History and Psychology at Dartford Grammar School for Girls. I also mentor younger students in English, which has given me experience explaining difficult concepts clearly, providing constructive feedback and adapting my approach to different students.
I take tutoring seriously and will always prepare for lessons in advance, arrive organised and make sure sessions are focused on the individual student's needs. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting something wrong.
Most importantly, I aim to be the kind of tutor I would have appreciated when preparing for my own exams: approachable and encouraging, but also focused on making genuine progress. Whether a student wants to improve their grades, prepare for an upcoming exam or simply become more confident in a subject, I will work with them to set realistic goals and help them achieve them.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, engaging and tailored to each student. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style depending on the student's confidence, ability and areas they find most challenging. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while gradually building their independence.
I usually begin by identifying the student's strengths and areas for improvement. I then explain concepts clearly, using examples and breaking more difficult topics into manageable steps. I particularly focus on active learning through practice questions, exam-style tasks and discussion rather than simply giving students information to memorise. For older students, I also teach exam technique, planning and time management so that they can apply their knowledge effectively under exam conditions.
A typical lesson would last around 45 minutes to an hour. This gives us enough time to review previous learning, introduce or practise a topic and finish by checking the student's understanding.
I am currently an A-level student studying Maths, History and Psychology and achieved strong GCSE results, including grade 9s in both English Language and English Literature, grade 8s in History and Religious Studies, and a grade 7 in Maths. I also have experience mentoring younger students in English, which has helped me develop my ability to explain ideas clearly and encourage students who may lack confidence.
I am particularly interested in tutoring primary and secondary-school students, including those preparing for their GCSEs. I can support students with English Language, English Literature, History and general essay-writing skills, as well as Maths for younger students. My aim is not only to improve a student's grades, but to help them become more confident and independent in their learning.
