About Anastasiia

I take my work as a tutor seriously and feel a strong sense of responsibility for my students' progress. I am hardworking, organised and always looking for ways to improve my teaching. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons, materials and teaching methods to their individual needs, level and goals.
My own experience with languages has strongly influenced the way I teach. I started living abroad at the age of 17, first in Poland and later in the UK. At 18, I moved to London independently, which gave me the opportunity to develop my English through everyday communication, education and work. Living in London has also given me an understanding of British culture and the way English is used in real-life situations. Because of this, I teach more than grammar rules and textbook vocabulary. I help my students understand how to communicate naturally and confidently in English.
Combined with my academic background in linguistics and several years of teaching experience, this allows me to explain English clearly and help students develop skills they will use outside the classroom.
My lessons are also a relaxed and friendly space. I have a good sense of humour and enjoy having a laugh with my students, so I never want lessons to feel stressful or overly formal. I want my students to feel comfortable speaking, asking questions and making mistakes.

About the lesson

-My English lessons focus on building confidence in speaking while developing vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening skills.
-I use the LangFit learning platform, which provides structured materials for reading, listening, vocabulary, grammar, writing and exam preparation. I adapt the materials to each student's level, goals and progress.
-Vocabulary is an important part of my teaching method. When we meet a new word during reading or listening exercises, I add it to the student's vocabulary list without immediately providing the translation. I encourage the student to remember the meaning independently, use the word in sentences and answer questions using the new vocabulary. This helps students actively recall words rather than simply memorising translations.
-As the vocabulary list grows, I also use timed vocabulary exercises. The words are shuffled, and the student reads and translates them as quickly as possible. This helps develop faster word recognition, recall and reading fluency.
-Lessons include plenty of conversation. We discuss texts, answer questions, practise new vocabulary and work on expressing ideas naturally in English. Depending on the student's level, we also use listening exercises, videos and films. Grammar is taught through structured exercises and then reinforced through speaking and homework.
-After each lesson, I provide homework based on the grammar and vocabulary we have studied.
-I have been teaching English online since 2021 and have experience creating individual learning programmes based on each student's needs and progress. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in English and German Language and Literature, where I studied linguistics, phonetics and language acquisition, as well as a C1 English Language Certificate.
-My lessons are suitable for teenagers and adults with A1–B2 levels of English who want to improve their general English, speaking confidence, vocabulary, grammar, listening and reading skills, as well as those preparing for exams.
