About Pico
I'm a sophomore at Bates College majoring in English and Philosophy with five years of experience writing academic papers, newspaper articles, and a blog on topics including Buddhism, consumer culture, existentialism, popular media, literature, and more. I am also a voracious reader, with a passion for twentieth literature from Latin America and Continental Europe.
I have not taught before but I am eager to start helping students become more enthusiastic writers and more engaged readers!

I am a sophomore in college and can teach anyone who is interested in becoming a better reader and/or writer. My lessons will typically be geared towards middle school and high school students so that they get more out of what they read and start to enjoy academic and journalistic writing.
These lessons will be a mix of lecture and discussion-based teaching, depending on the topic and the student's preferences. I can also provide high-quality Powerpoints and/or note sheets on a case-by case basis.
