About Esther
I am Esther, a 21-year-old philologist in the final stage of the Degree in English Studies with a mention in German at the URV. I have worked as an au pair in Germany, where I taught English and Spanish to the children I took care of. When I returned from Germany I worked taking care of children whom I spoke entirely in English; I helped them with their homework and we created dynamics in which they learned English in a natural and fun way.

After studying English as a foreign language for almost my entire life, I have realized that there has to be a change in the teaching method. In general, English classes are based on listening to the teacher for a long time and then exercising without having digested the concepts previously taught. This makes the student demotivate, frustrated and have a negative attitude towards the foreign language since he feels he does not learn anything. My teaching method is based on transmitting knowledge in the most natural and simple way possible, without ignoring something as important as the student's needs and emotions. That's why I try to make my classes interactive; If it is the case that there is more than one student, I try to have participation by everyone, of course always in English. I also like to use online support, such as videos or English platforms. In this way, the student becomes accustomed to listening to the language, improving its pronunciation, and learns vocabulary used by native people naturally.
