About Nicholas

Hi there! : )
My name is Nicholas, but please call me Nick (ニック). I'm 30 years old, and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm currently a university student studying Japanese as my major. I have a certificate for teaching English to speakers of other languages (T.E.S.O.L), and I've had approximately one year's teaching experience in Japan.

I lived in Fukuoka, Japan for approximately one and a half years. During that time, I taught English at two different companies in Meinohama. I had about seventy students aged 3 to 60. We had lots of fun together, and I really enjoyed watching them improve. I became friends with many of my students, and we still keep in contact.

Whilst living in Japan, I enjoyed studying Japanese and eating Fukuoka's famous ramen. I also enjoyed udon, yakitori, takoyaki, and sashimi. However, my favourite Japanese meal is a good chicken tempura set「鳥天定食」. : )
I really enjoyed exploring Fukuoka's city and rural areas, and I miss Fukuoka very much.
During my time in Japan, I also travelled to Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and Tokyo.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Japan, and I'm looking forward to the next time I go back.

はじめまして！ニコラスですが、　ニックとよんで下さい。　私は30歳でオーストラリアのメルボルンに住んでいます。　英語を教える資格を持っていて、　一年間ぐらい日本で英語を教えていました。

一年間半福岡に住んでいました。　その時、　二つの姪浜の会社で英語を教えました。　生徒さんは３歳から６０歳までいました。　私達は本当に楽しかったです。　生徒さんの上達を見ると嬉しいです。　よく姪浜の生徒さんと友だちになって、　まだ連絡しています。

日本に住む時、　日本語を勉強することや福岡の人気があるラーメンを食べることが大好きでした！　うどんも焼き鳥もタコ焼きも刺身も好きでしたが、　一番好きな食事は鳥天定食です。　福岡が大好きです！
日本で旅行した場所は京都、奈良、東京でした。
私は日本にいる時が大好きで、　次の行く時を楽しみにしています！！！

色々なレッスンがありますが、好きなレッスンを教えてください。
英会話もいいです。英語を話すことを練習すると上手になりますね。
もし間違えた英語を使っていたら、私が文法と発音をなおすことができます。

About the lesson

I really enjoy seeing the progress in my students, so
in our first lesson, I'll work hard to find out what your goals are, so we can begin working towards achieving them.

I'll be asking you lots of questions to get you talking, and I'll often correct your sentences to help you speak more naturally and fluently. (I also really like to help with improving pronunciation.)

My lessons are focussed on improving your confidence in speaking and listening, but we may occasionally do a little work on your reading and writing.

Upon request, I can also help with vocabulary building, grammar, idioms and other areas.

I am writing to certify that Mr Nicholas has a high teaching ability in English conversation. I met him at English conversation school in Japan a few years ago. From the first lesson, we had built a good relationship. This is just because of his nice personality. Conversation with him was really fun for me. His way of teaching was to encourage me to speak English, not forcibly but very naturally. I wanted to continue studying English with him, but unfortunately, he had to return to his country, so our relationship between teacher and student had been ended within half a year. I wanted to continue. This is the most important thing in learning another language. He made me such impression. That is why I strongly recommend him to the other members of Superprof community as an English tutor.

-The hourly rate depends on the student's level and their requirements.
-The travel costs depend on the distance that needs to be travelled.
-If a cancellation needs to be made, students must give 24 hours notice (The full hourly rate will be charged if cancellations are made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson.)
