About Fleur

Hi all! I'm Fleur and it is a pleasure to meet you (albeit virtually). I have been an English literature and language tutor for around four years now and have had a 100% success in getting my students at least 1-4 grades above what they started with. My passion is education (I even started up my own educational organisation!). I believe that everyone should have access to quality, rigorous and enjoyable education - and that's where I come in! Not only have my students achieved academically, they have also become far more confident. Not only do they have more confidence in their work, but they have more motivation for themselves. All students are capable of achieving great things - I am here to get you there!

About the lesson

My lessons are entirely catered to you. I will soon learn your style of learning, how you remain interested in certain topics and where you might struggle. I endeavour to create a calm, friendly and happy atmosphere in my lessons whilst building a steady rapport that will not only open up a space for you to feel comfortable in asking any questions about English, but also, allow you to enjoy learning! My lessons are usually structured as follows (but are however subject to change dependent on what the student needs!) - a quick introduction and check-up to see how you are doing and how your day was / anything that might have come up in English that you wish to speak further on -homework run through -> this usually occupies around 15/20 minutes of the lesson as I often set writing homework to truly exercise the skills we have learnt in class - ending 20/30 minutes --> going through either the same topic or an introduction into the next one as well as a space for you to ask me any questions that might have arisen during the lesson (although I do encourage these throughout to maintain a good understanding of the material!) My lessons are generally around 60 minutes long however I can also do 90 minutes dependent on what the student needs. Having tutored for four years with a 100% success rate in getting my students 1-4 grades above their starting grade, I know what it takes to work hard and achieve! Having finished my A-Levels with A*AA (English literature, history and religious studies), I wanted to carry on learning and enjoying English through tuition whilst I completed my (first class) sociology degree at Warwick University. Having now almost completed my master's degree at the University of Bristol, I have taught a plethora of students with differing learning and social needs. This experience has allowed me to excel in my teaching abilities and that of my student's academic abilities! I tutor years 7-13 both English Language and Literature.

She’s very organised in sessions and has many resources that are always relevant and useful. When we mark my work together, Fleur is very detailed and has completely transformed my method of writing. I love that I could see immediate results from our sessions and I would say that 100% of the improvements I’ve made is because of Fleur’s teaching. My new ability to analyse text and write eloquently is still helping me with my Spanish A-levels and daily life even if I don’t do English in school anymore.
