About Samuel

Hi! I'm Sammy, I'm 19 and I went to high school in the USA. I applied to Yale University last year and was accepted! I will study sociology and history next year. Now I'm taking a year off, where I play soccer in Erlangen and help students with their English subject. This (with history and German) was my best subject in school. I enjoy reading books on history, sociology and football tactics and always enjoy talking about them :)

I am patient and like to explain things several times, working with my students gives me great pleasure!

About the lesson

I offer classes for students of all ages and levels of experience.

I make the lessons informative but also relaxed. The students should not feel pressured. I want to stimulate interest in the English subject through topics that the students are already interested in. Patience and time is very important in my lessons, as I like to explain and also use diagrams or sketches to make things clearer. The English language - especially English literature and history - is one of my passions and I want to share it with my students :)

Sammy ist ein Freund, den ich in einem Lesekreis in Nürnberg kennengelernt habe. In dem Lesekreis lasen wir soziologische Texte und er kannte sich sehr gut mit dem Thema aus. Es war aber nicht nur seine Kenntnis, die mich beeindruckte. Sein Geduld beim komplizierten Themen erzählen war bemerkenswert. Zb wir haben Foucault gelesen und er wartete/erzähltet einen Konzept- "Epistemen"- bis alle in dem Kreis ihn verstanden.

Das war alles auf Deutsch gelehrt aber ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen, dass sein Englisch noch besser als sein Deutsch ist und, dass er geduldig und interessant Englisch beibringen würde.
