About Ben

I have been playing guitar for nearly 20 years. Studying various styles, genres and techniques in order to develop my abilities as a professional musician. I hold both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Music Performance, specialising in Guitar. For me, teaching is about inspiring and motivating students of all ages and abilities to either begin their journey on learning the guitar or to help and assist improving their abilities to reach goals and milestones. Outside of tuition, I play in a function/covers band who play in various pubs, clubs and events 3-4 times per month.

About the lesson

Throughout your lesson I aim to help develop your skills as a guitar player and a musician, and I will be able to develop a plan of action in order for you to hit musical goals. This means planning your lesson to suit your ability and needs whatever your long-term goals may be. I teach any age groups and levels, and I am able to provide a service that is tailored to your style of learning. I will also provide you with reading materials, which will support your lesson or give you the opportunity to revise and practise at home!

Ben is an awesome teacher - so approachable and he structures the lessons so well. I’ve gone from grade 0 to grade 8 later this year in three years. Whilst doing that he’s mixed it up playing songs I like as well as explaining more difficult aspects of music theory to me. I’ve already recommended him to several friends - and would recommend him to anyone!

Ben is one of the most patient, encouraging and enthusiastic people I have ever met! When I started my lessons, I was a total beginner who hadn't even held a guitar before. It wasn't long before I had a few songs and riffs nailed, and that was all thanks to Ben's encouragement! He helped me to identify the areas I needed to work on and he designed my practice routine around them, and I found that I was making huge progress in a surprisingly short amount of time! Ben truly wanted me to succeed and his passion for the guitar was infectious, I couldn't recommend him highly enough, this is the guitar tutor for you!
