About Jinling
I come from China and currently live with my wife and three cats in Florida, USA. I can speak English fluently as I had I had been studied and worked in China, Europe and USA in the past ten years.
I studied and obtained my PhD in the Netherlands before I moved to USA, where I worked with my colleagues from 13 different countries. This multilingual workplace encourages us to communicate with each other via different languages. I got great cultural diversity training from my previous work experience. I will try to apply this cultural diversity experience in my class.
I think the first principle of true teaching is that nothing can be taught. Therefore, I will not be work as an instructor or taskmaster, but rather a helper and a tutor when we study Chinese together.
I have met many colleagues or expatriates from different countries in Netherlands and the USA, I tried to teach them with very basic Mandarin. I recommended them movies, books, and documentaries about Chinese history, culture, and cuisine. It was so much fun that we talked and enjoyed my Chinese cook in my apartment. I am confident that you will not only learn a new language but also explore various aspects of Chinese culture and live when we learn together.
A customized study plan that will help you fulfill your personal studying goals, no matter you are a beginner, or you want to practice or sharp your Chinese. Trust me, I also teach my wife (who is American) some basic Chinese at home, which helps greatly me to understand and explain your questions/problems when Chinese is not your first language.
