About Tamara
I am fun and energetic. I’ve spent the past year in Latin America: I volunteered for 6 months in Puerto Rico, traveled to Buenos Aires for holiday, vacationed in the Dominican Republic for Christmas, volunteered for a month in Ecuador, taught English for two and a half months in Colombia, and have been volunteering with an environmental education program in Panamá for the past month. Travel and languages and cultures are my passion; I truly enjoy making new friends with whom I can share new experiences.

I have 17 years of experience teaching high school in California. As an ESL teacher at the 2nd most diverse school in California (13th most diverse school in the USA), I was blessed with the opportunity to teach students from all over the world. There were 9 different first languages spoken in my classroom daily and we had the most wonderful time exploring languages and improving our English skills.
I am also a language learner, having taken classes in both Spanish and Arabic. I understand the unique needs language acquisition and make learning fun!
I am a world traveler, spending the last year in Latin America an fully acquiring the Spanish language and enjoying immersing myself with other cultures. I’ve likewise traveled through Europe, North America, and even made a trip to Jerusalem.
I cater my lessons to your needs and am able to do quick and informal assessments to help me plan my lessons.
