Usually, I spend some time with the student (one meeting) assessing and discussing your needs. This is without any charge or fee. Then, after we have come to an agreement on the proposed aims and outcomes, we begin an intensive course of study. I have discovered that the most effective way to help prepare my students to achieve their goals is through: 1) engaging in dynamic speaking exercises (on a topic of interest to the student), that, by focusing on the individual's particular difficulties, quickly improve his / her errors; these exercises may include mock-speaking tests; (2) studying cases and articles together, while focusing on key vocabulary (3) doing exam-based exercises that will help prepare the student who is studying for a specific test; (4) assigned writing exercises (usually for homework) that help the student to develop accurate, concise and elegant writing style with correct grammatical usage and appropriate register and vocabulary for the given task, and (4) some combination of these methods.
