About Nancy

I’m someone who truly believes that everyone can succeed in maths with the right support. I’ve always loved the subject, and I want to help students not just get the answers but really understand the “why” behind them. I became a tutor because I want to share that understanding and passion, making maths feel less intimidating and more like something students can enjoy. Teaching for me is about more than just going through the material – it’s about building a student’s confidence and helping them realise that they’re capable of mastering the subject. I love seeing that moment when everything clicks for a student, and I’m always excited to be part of that journey with them. For me, it’s about helping students grow, not just academically, but in their belief in themselves too.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is all about making maths feel approachable and less overwhelming. I break down each concept into bite-sized steps, making sure students fully understand each part before moving forward. I encourage active participation by asking questions and using real-life examples, helping students see how maths applies to everyday life. Each lesson is typically around 60 minutes, with a mix of explanations and practice exercises to reinforce what’s been learned. I believe in pacing lessons according to each student's needs, so they always feel confident and supported. I’ve worked with students up to IGCSE level and enjoy adapting my teaching to suit different learning styles. My aim is to build not just better grades but a genuine confidence in maths that students can carry with them.
