About Joseph
Hi, I’m Joe, a GCSE Maths tutor and online teacher with experience supporting students in both English and maths up to GCSE level.
I specialise in KS3 and GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher), helping students build confidence, close gaps in understanding, and improve their exam results through clear, step-by-step explanations.
I also have experience teaching English language online, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and an adaptable approach to different learners.

My teaching style is calm, patient, and supportive. I aim to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I focus on breaking topics down into clear, step-by-step methods so that students understand the reasoning behind each process, rather than just memorising answers.
I particularly enjoy teaching algebra and problem-solving, as these are areas where many students struggle but can make significant progress with the right approach.
Lessons are always tailored to the individual student and may include: Identifying gaps in understanding, step-by-step explanations with worked examples, guided practice questions, independent practice with feedback, exam-style questions and technique.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build long-term confidence in maths so they feel more capable and in control of their learning.
