About JULIA

After passing with honors my literary baccalaureate at the Lycée Marseilleveyre, where I majored in Art History and obtained respectively 17 and 19/20 for the written and oral French exams, I undertook ten years of studies in the field of Humanities: literature, theater, philosophy, anthropology and art history.

I was first a student in the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles (Hypokhâgne and Khâgne A / L in Theater specialty) at Thiers lycée in Marseille, which gave me strong reflexive and methodological skills to the rest of my academic career. Passionate about art and philosophy, I then studied art history and anthropology for two years at the École du Louvre, and completed it by a Bachelor in Philosophy with a specialization in aesthetics at the University of Aix-Marseille, as well as a Bachelor in Theatrical Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle (with honors). After which I graduated of a Master's degree in Arts and Anthropology at Paris 8 (with honors), and focused my research on Stage Direction and Ethnoscenology.

Concerning the Philosophy courses, I am therefore particularly qualified in aesthetics and in philosophy of art, but I am generally passionate about all the subjects related to this discipline. As far as Literature is concerned, my passion for theater, born in college, is regularly nourished by readings and actuations in all literary genres. Bilingual in English and fluent in Spanish, I practiced these languages on a daily basis during my travels in more than thirty countries.

I also regularly put my theoretical knowledge into practice on stage, having created numerous artistic projects as a stage director, actor, performer, film director and video editor, in France and abroad. I would be happy to pass on to you what I have learned on stage to help you gain confidence, be comfortable in public speaking and in expressing your ideas.

In parallel to my professional activities as a mediator in various cultural institutions and in conjunction with my university studies, I have been giving online and at home private lessons for five years, having built up a relationship of trust with my students and guaranteeing them good results in their exams.

About the lesson

As an online and home teacher specialized in Humanities, I have had the pleasure of teaching French Language and Literature for five years. I also offer reinforcement courses in foreign languages (English/Spanish), Philosophy courses, as well as Theatre and Art History courses.

---> FLE courses:
According to your linguistic objectives, I will provide you with a personalized pedagogical material in order to learn efficiently the elementary rules of the language. With the help of practical exercises, our lessons will be interactive and based on comprehension (oral and written) and on the rules of spelling and grammar. We will open the practice of French to an introduction to French culture and to the art of conversation. For students who are new to French: I am fluent in English and Spanish, which may help you at first.

---> French - Literature courses:
My private lessons are aimed at both high school students of all sectors who wish to train effectively for evaluations, as well as middle school students who are looking for academic support (help with homework or advanced training). I am committed to listening to each student, developing their motivation, making them aware of their abilities, and helping them to progress by bringing to life the subjects that are considered difficult.

---> Preparation to exams such as the Baccalaureat:
I will provide you with a clear method to succeed in an essay and a text commentary. I will bring you the tools to learn how to make revision sheets, to review the texts required thanks to concrete exercises, and to give you writing advice. Regarding the oral test, I will use my 15 years of experience in the theatrical field to give you confidence to express your argumentation with ease and vocabulary.

---> Philosophy:
My goal will be to get to the heart of the knowledge and the method to be acquired in order to succeed in the Bac, by equipping you for the understanding of basic notions, the use of key concepts, the synthesis of ideas, the elaboration of a problematic, the construction of a reasoning, but also to give you benchmarks in the history of philosophy, as well as a condensed list of the essential texts to quote in order to ser this test successfully.

---> English / Spanish:
According to the specific linguistic needs of each student, I will give lessons directly in English or Spanish, and I will organize the session around the difficulties encountered by the student, notably through thematic translation exercises and the creation of dialogue scenes.

My rate is generally the following: one hour of class is 20€. Then I set up a preferential rate depending on the length of the class, or for an annual package.
