About Lee
Today's average student has it rough; fast-paced lessons, overpopulated classrooms, busy teachers, extracurricular activities, social lives, and heavy homework loads can be challenging. This is why I choose to tutor.
As a certificates teacher, my goal as a tutor is two fold: to help students in areas of academic challenge and to assist in student/life organization. Lessons in time management, scheduling, planning, and self-discipline greatly benefits the student who often is overwhelmed and/or doesn't seem to know what's going on. With consistent help from me and support from home, my students obtain the skills they need to be successful both in and outside of the classroom.

I love the art of teaching. As a self-proclaimed life-time student, I believe learning should be one of life's greatest joys. It is my goal to help bring this perspective to every student I encounter. Watching a student turn from loathing or being apathetic towards their schooling to enjoying and being motivated to succeed is why I do what I do!
I have been a K-6 teacher for 8 years. I am certificated in two states (California and Arizona). I also have my M.Ed. in elementary education.

I always begin with an assessment session. I have to know exactly what the student is needing (general homework help or help in a specific subject). I also meet with parent/guardian to get input from their end concerning their student's needs. Finally, I make sure the student knows that this will be work and they will need to be ready to put forth as much effort as I do in order for their goals to be met.
Once the initial assessment is done, I provide a tutoring course of action which addresses academic and work skill goals for the student. After that, we dive in with sessions. I provide weekly or bi-weekly progress reports which serve as data points that inform our course of action as we work together.
