About Dorothy
I help students based on their needs. I will teach students until they understand the material.
I enjoy teaching and seeing when students understand. When student understand the material and their eyes light up; it makes everything worthwhile. I've been tutoring for 3 years now, and I don't plan to stop.
I started teaching students at home. I started off teaching students that were about to go in Pre-K as well as students that are currently in Pre-K or Kindergarten.
I'm in college right now majoring in Early Childhood Eduxation. I've been working at a tutoring center for 3 years and work with kids ranging from Pre-K to 1st grade. I also have experience working with kids in special education.

I first ask questions to see what they know, and what they don't know. If they know something, I'll do a quick review if that topic relates to what they will be learning next. When teaching, I will teach in many different ways. Learning will not just be pencil, and paper. Being hands on and involved in projects helps students understand the material. Not only will I guide my students, but I will also have them do independent work.
I've worked with students ranging from 3 years old to students that have entered Pre-K and students that are on special education.
My advice to students would be to find, and hire a teacher that has a passion for teaching.
Recently my students celebrated 100 Days of School. They all did a poster about it which was very fun and seeing them work hard, and helping each other was the best part.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The questions students should think through is, can teachers really help them and do they have the ability to guide us to be successful.
