About Connor
I believe that tutoring should ultimately instill students with the confidence and independence necessary to take control of their learning. Rather than provide short-term fixes and work-arounds, I focus on ensuring students have a solid foundation of knowledge. Through application of this knowledge, students have the ability to address any challenge or question they may face.
As a lifelong learner and strong advocate of mentorship, I find that tutoring is an especially rewarding way to apply my own knowledge and experiences.
I recently completed my B.S. in Biology and East Asian Studies with Honors from Emory University and am preparing to serve as an English Teaching Assistant with the Fulbright Program.
During my studies, I developed not only a strong background in both the sciences and humanities but also invaluable skills in critical thinking and problem solving. I enjoy being able to utilize my interdisciplinary background to help students redefine problems and form solutions from new perspectives.
Outside of the classroom, I regulary volunteered with ESL organizations to help refugees, immigrants, and new Americans develop English conversational skills. Through this experience, I broadened my own communication skills and

When working with a new student, it is essential to develop a strong rapport and identify their ultimate goals. Our first tutoring session will focus on understanding the student's current situation and developing a specialized plan that suits the student's individual needs. Going forward, we will track the student's progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure their goals remain within sight!
