About Jason

I am a fourth year medical student who is very passionate about the sciences and how they integrate with everyday practice as a medical professional. I will push students to achieve the scores they wish through logical solutions and splitting the problems into digestable sections.

I graduated summa cum laude (3.96 gpa) from the University of South Florida with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Honors College. I spent a semester as a Peer Leader for freshman and sophomore college students in General Chemistry.

I can also offer my perspectives on being a pre-med and now medical student. I understand that there are many aspiring health professionals out there who have many questions. As someone who is still young and going through the process, I feel that I can be a valuable asset to assist on their journey to their professional careers. It is my passion to help others reach their best potential!

I have a passion for the sciences and take every opportunity that I can to teach others. I love explaining things, especially things that I am passionate about.

I completed a four year bachelor of sciences degree in Biomedical Sciences and graduated summa cum laude.

I am currently a third year medical student, so I have two years of pre-clinical sciences under my belt as well.

I would like to know how they reason through problems and answer them before I offer my perspective. I prefer to know how the student thinks and how they wish to proceed rather than taking over and trying to teach it all myself. This is a cooperative assignment, not a lecture!

I worked with freshman and sophomore level college students in the biology and chemistry topics.

I also have experience working with high school students, as both of my brothers are high schoolers and I have tutored them extensively in the past.

I would advise them to choose a teacher that fits their learning style and can help them exceed not just in the assigned topic, but be a mentor for life as well. I believe that there is more to extract from a topic than just the topic itself! For example, teaching chemistry is more than just making sure the student learns chemistry: do they have the patience, tenacity, diligence to persist even when the problems get very difficult and frustrating? It is teaching these skills that should be most important to the student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student should think through how they wish to be taught and to what extent they wish to be helped. Remember, the teacher may be able to guide you 100% through the problems until their completion, but the teacher cannot be there with you during the test! So how can the teacher best prepare you to succeed in your future exams?
