About Yachecia
America fell in love with Detroit native, Yachecia Holston on MasterChef Season 8 – it was undeniable! Her ability to capture the hearts of millions through her cooking and her encouragement came natural. This is no surprise, as she started cooking at the age of 9 with her mom. The southern preacher spent her summers cooking with her Great-Great Aunt Ann & Grandmother Mattie Lee in Nashville, TN. This laid the groundwork for her passion in the kitchen. Yachecia’s MasterChef journey was a personal victory of following her dreams. Beating over 35,000 people, Yachecia soared to finish in the Top 5 of MasterChef Season 8. Yachecia has taken her “sassy southern fusion” cooking style into the homes of professional NBA and NFL athletes, she teaches workshops, hosts monthly pop-up shops, and offers 5 course dining experiences as a private/personal chef.
