About Lia
I have a Bachelors Degree in art, where I learned most of the skills I hope to pass on to my students. I have formal experience in many different styles and mediums but have also been drawing comics and cartoons all my life. I like to help my students do what they love, and do it better!
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I have also been drawing all my life.

Whether teaching a young student or adult, my first question is: What do you usually like to draw?
This can be hard for them to answer, so if they don’t know right away I usually have them choose a person or an animal. We both draw to gether the first time, until we’re both satisfied (or if the student gets frustrated). Then compare our drawings.
The students usually see some things in my drawing that they want to try. They might ask: How do you make an animal look fluffy? or How did you shade it?
Teaching these skills becomes the starting point for the next couple lessons. Until a solid foundation or style is established.
