About Scott

Unlike any other creative training program iSeeArt gives a new approach to experiencing learning by seeing then doing. Through gathering experts in their trade iSeeArt curates experiential learning courses aimed at evolving one's ability to control form, space and color and apply these learning into personal projects. Educating the eye to see the world around us.

This training program changes the perception of ones ability to see, like the transforming qualities of watching a film in black and white and then in color, students are open to a new visual environment and never look at the world the same way or their own creative process.

I was asked to teach because of my love and passion for sharing.

+20 years teaching at Pratt Institute and lecturing around the world about art, design and creativity.

About the lesson

Interview, skill assessment and understand personal artisitc goals. Discuss a working schedule linked to goals.

Elementary, middle and high school and spent most time teaching college level.

Best to have an introductory chat before making any decisions. Allow a feeling out process from both parties.

Scott Vandervoort showed me how to work with orthographic drawings and how to use a scale ruler. He also gifted me a copy of The Elements of Design, a book documenting the teaching of industrial designers and educators Rowena and Alexander Kostellow.

I soon realised that Scott was teaching me the understanding of beauty. A beauty that lays within asymmetrical abstract relationships. During this study I learned to appreciate how to see the power in moving one's eye, around objects and form, by finding and engaging a visual balance in a three-dimensional composition. In this complex world of abstract relationships I found discipline.
