About Ingrid

Does your child need help in English, reading, or writing? My 30 years as a classroom teacher and tutor will help your child get ahead. I also have experience teaching online. I have 2 years online teaching experience teaching Chinese students English.

I look forward to teaching your child.

I really enjoy seeing students understand something that wasn't clear to them before. I am strong on questioning so that the student can arrive at the answer. I use various methods and materials to encourage learning.

I have been a teacher for 30 years. I taught first through fourth grade students for 15 years. I also subbed for about ten years in kindergarten through 5th grade. I have also taught ESL online with Chinese students. I am currently working with middle school students in the AVID program at my local middle school.

About the lesson

When I begin with a new student, I may use an informal reading inventory to see where their reading level is.

If writing is the student's need, I like to go through recent writing samples they have done. We talk about the strengths and improvements needed.

When working with ESL students learning English, I consult with parents or can give a simple online ESL test that will give a learning level.
