About Courtney

I bring an excitng and fun side to learning the fundamentals of English in the areas of both reading and writing.

I believe we all are brilliant readers and writers, we just need someone to tap into our individual style and then passion can be uncovered.

I am business degree holder, with a TESOL certification, and exstensive English education. I also have a joy to work towards goals with student and give encouragement in one on one tutoring and the afterschool setting.

I have always had a gift for learning and helping others learn through patterns of my own. The joy of writing has always been my first love and is a gift that I share with others.

I have done tutoring throughout college, working with elementary school kids up to college peers. I have also directed an after school program that promoted and supported all approaaches to supplemental education, this included tutoring and lesson delivering.

About the lesson

Before working with a student, I like to assess the learning challenge. Once, we identitify the problem, we will use encouraging methods to develop in that area. Throughout, progess will be tested and documented, so that the mehods can continue to support learning where needed. Success happens when the student is functioning at the expected grade level or above.

I have worked with students who have the typical phonetic fundamental problems and also students with diagnosed EIPs. I have also worked with briliant college students who were great in their own fields (ie. engineering, nursing), but needed help formally expressing thought.

I believe students should find educators who are patient and passionate about their student's growth. With this, the learninng process will be easy.

I have delighted myself in reading even more books while under the safety lock-down we are adhereing to, they have have brought me so much joy. I am relearning how to escape through a good read.
