About Robynn

Author, journalist, freelance writer and consultant Robynn James Farkas provides excellent support to students. Having taught ESL both in the US and in Haiti, I have a fondness for English language learners and I truly enjoy helping you to gain greater ease and fluency. Your comfort and progress is my number 1 priority!

Graduate of Northern Michigan University and Creighton University College of Law.

I enjoy getting to know a variety of people, and finding creative ways to help you enjoy the English language. I have traveled a great deal, and look forward to doing more after the pandemic fades into our distant memories. I am here to help and enjoy seeing your success!

I possess a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English Literature, and a Master's in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.

I have been a substitute teacher and tutor on and off for over a decade; taught English as a Second Language in the US and Haiti; and have worked as a journalist and grant-writer.

About the lesson

Before we meet, please write a short paragraph describing what you wish to gain from our work together. This will not only help us to set goals, but give me a better understanding of your writing ability. Our first session will be a full-hour in which we will set goals and objectives for our work together.

We will meet weekly to go over your progress. In certain cases we may meet more or less frequently, depending on the timeline for your project. I tailor my approach to each individual student based on language ability, comprehension, grade level and project goals.
