About Amanda

More than ever, it is essential that students can communicate clearly and creatively through writing! Writefully offers private, virtual writing sessions. During these sessions, students embark on fun writing assignments that fit their unique interests and receive personalized mini lessons in grammar and style.

Amanda Meer holds a BA in English with a writing concentration, as well as an MA in Elementary Education. She has over a decade of teaching, tutoring and college level writing center experience. Amanda is a former elementary Gifted and Talented teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools.

I have always been a teacher. I worked as a ballet teacher and college level writing tutor before pursuing a career in e-learning. While I loved this field, I missed working with individual students and therefore returned for my Master's in Elementary Education. As a 3rd grade gifted and talented teacher, English was my favorite subject to teach. I love this opportunity to harness technology and work with students individually to enhance their reading and writing skills.

About the lesson

My first step is to get to know the student's unique interests, strengths and goals. For writing sessions, we start with a free consultation which gives us time to talk and to review a sentence or paragraph written by the student. From here, we can work together to establish a plan for our sessions.

I am certified to teach K-6 but have tutored middle and high school students and also worked as a college level writing center tutor for three years.

I charge $30/30 min session when 8 sessions are booked. 4 30 min sessions are $40/session and 1 session is $50.
